A very successful second outing for Careers Connect yesterday. Paul was excellent bringing the students on his global medical journey that highlighted themes about respect, learning, friendship and making a contribution where it’s most needed. Very Rotarian messages!
Shane Bourke, Director of Kennedys Group and Rotarian Co-ordinator of Castlebar Careers Programme.

Castlebar Rotary: Careers Programme for Secondary Schools
The Careers Connect Programme continued last week with Professor Paul O’Grady Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Mayo University Hospital bringing the students of St Gerald’s on his fascinating global medical journey including insights (sometimes harrowing) into his work in some of the most impoverished areas in the world.
Careers Connect is a Castlebar Rotary Programme that brings speakers from the worlds of Science, Business, Medicine, Law, Community Organisations, Entertainment and beyond into the classroom to provide insights into their career journey and personal experiences.
Featured in the photographs are Professor Paul O’Grady (Speaker & Castlebar Rotary), Sharon Geraghty (Careers Co-ordinator, St Gerald’s), Shane Bourke (Castlebar Rotary) and Leaving Cert Students.
