Castlebar Rotary Christmas Tree of Remembrance in aid of Castlebar Social Services. The fundraiser will run over six days this year.
PRESS RELEASE
Castlebar Rotary Club will host its annual fundraising event, The Tree of Remembrance from Thursday 18 th to Tuesday 23rd December. Since this fundraising event started in 2008, it has raised substantial funds for local charities.

The purpose of the Tree is to give members of the public an opportunity to remember a loved one at Christmas while supporting deserving charities with a voluntary donation.
The Tree of Remembrance will once again be located on Hopkins Road, outside Dunnes Stores. You can remember a loved one, either living or dead, by placing a ribbon on the Tree and making a voluntary donation. All those remembered will be prayed for at Mass in the Holy Rosary Church on Christmas Eve. Donations made will support our Charity Partner Castlebar Social Services and other Rotary causes.
Rotary Club President John Mulroy, in launching the event, said: “This project is unique in that it affords people an opportunity to remember their loved ones in a very tangible way while at the same time supporting very deserving charities. The Club are delighted to support Castlebar Social Services which provides much needed services in the local community. We are again appealing to the people of Castlebar
and all visitors to the Town during this festive period to take some time out and visit The Tree of Remembrance on Hopkins Road and take part in this unique event”
