Castlebar Rotary is delighted to have Davitt College join its Careers Connect Programme.
There was a large turnout (over 70 attendees) to hear Professor Paul O’Grady Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon Mayo University Hospital talk about his career and life.
Paul brought the students of Davitt College on a fascinating global medical journey that included the challenges he faced in delivering medical services in some of the most impoverished parts of the world. It is an inspiring story with themes of making do with meagre resources, the power of the team and self growth.
Careers Connect is a Castlebar Rotary Programme that brings speakers from the worlds of Science, Business, Medicine, Law, Community Organisations, Entertainment and beyond into the classroom to provide insights into their career journey and personal experiences.
Featured in the photographs are Professor Paul O’Grady (Speaker & Castlebar Rotary), William Rowan (Deputy Principal), Veronica Morley (Career Guidance, Davitt College), Seán Larkin (Davitt College), Shane Bourke (Castlebar Rotary) and Leaving Cert Students.
