The Rotary Club of Castlebar hosted a cheque presentation photoshoot, marking the culmination of the Castlebar Christmas Tree of Remembrance initiative for 2023.

The presentation marked another year of this successful event, resulting in the distribution of two substantial cheques, each valued at €2,350. The recipients, Mayo Cancer Support and Castlebar Social Services, two excellent charity organisations who are dedicated to providing crucial support services within the local  community.

These significant financial proceeds are raised through the collective goodwill and contributions of the people of Castlebar and surrounding areas.  The event would not run without the volunteers who give of their valuable time to fundraise at the tree.  Volunteers are enlisted from Mayo Cancer support, Castlebar Social Services and Rotary’s own members. The Christmas Tree was located at Hopkins Road, outside Dunnes Stores for eight days.

The Rotary Club hopes that these donations can in some small way help the two charities with their ongoing mission to offer care, support, and a brighter future for those in need.
