A Stroke Awareness Day is being organised by Castlebar Rotary Club in conjunction with Murray Ambulance Service and local health professionals.
High Blood pressure is a major risk factor for stroke and this free event, to be held in Supervalu, Castlebar, on Saturday 14th of Oct is open to any adult who may like to get their blood pressure taken.  Doors open at 10 am and close at 4pm.

A visit to the Stroke Awareness Day will enable people, who do not have regular medical treatment, to identify factors which may lead to a stroke. All who
attend will be offered a blood pressure check.

Rotary President Finian Joyce says: “Stroke Awareness Day, on 14th Oct 2023, is all about raising awareness of the link between high blood pressure and stroke.” “High blood pressure often has no symptoms, and it’s much more common than people think. That’s why we’re urging as many people as possible to take a moment and have their blood pressure checked at the Castlebar Rotary Club event on 14th Oct. A blood pressure check only takes a moment, and it’s such a simple way to reduce your risk of a stroke.”

Attendance is FREE, no appointment is required, and a visit is potentially life-saving.

Please visit Supervalu Castlebar, on the 14th October between 10am and 4pm.
