Rotary Table quiz for Music West.
Rotary Club of Castlebar Annual table quiz is set for Thursday 23rd of February 8pm in Garbo’s Moneenbradagh, Castlebar. The Table Quiz is to raise funds for the Music West and tables of 4 are €40.
The proceeds of the quiz will be given to Music West to support their work with supplying musical instruments to new comers to the music world. There will be plenty of spot prizes on the night and cash prizes for the winners.
Rotary is a service organisation and supporting volunteers in other service organisations is part of what we do and so we are delighted to do our bit to support Music West The funds from our table quiz will go directly towards their Musical instrument project.
About Music West Link
Based in Castlebar, County Mayo, our organisation has roots spanning over a century when marching bands first became a feature of life in Castlebar. The town’s strong musical culture set the foundations for the formation of Castlebar town band, later becoming the Castlebar Concert Band, while Mayo Concert Orchestra and the Mayo Youth Orchestra came on stream in more recent times.
Inaugurated in 2017/2018 Music West is the umbrella organisation for the Castlebar Concert Band, Castlebar Training Band, Mayo Concert Orchestra and Mayo Youth Orchestra.
In May 2022 Music West officially opened its new purpose-built headquarters in Castlebar which represented many years of planning and effort by a dedicated team and we are grateful for all the sponsorship and funding that enabled Music West to achieve this goal.
The accommodation includes a large rehearsal room together with six other teaching rooms, a meeting room, kitchen and instrument store. Access to the facility is mobility friendly and the facilities are available for rent to local groups. There is car parking available as well as a drop-off/pick up point.
Music West is a registered charity and we have recently been granted examination centre status. From humble beginnings, Music West has grown impressively and is now strongly positioned to expand further and reach out to the entire county in years ahead.
