The Rotary Club of Castlebar had an excellent weekend in Ballyliffen in Donegal last weekend. A group of 17 had planned to travel but unfortunately with a funeral and the shutdown of airports in Europe, three of the group were unable to make it.
The group stayed in Ballyliffin Lodge. The ladies visited Derry (for the shopping) the men played golf and on the Sunday some of the group played a second round of golf while the rest went up to Malin Point to do some sightseeing. The vistas and scenery were exceptional. The ladies enjoyed a cup of coffee outdoors at the most northerly point of Ireland while taking in the stunning scenery.
The locals of Donegal were very friendly and welcoming and the hotel took great care of the group – under President Caroline Costellos watchful eye.
A vote of thanks to Caroline Costello was proposed at lunch yesterday (20th).
