A very large crowd attended the Rotary Quiz night in the Welcome Inn last night. Over 27 tables competed for prizes with one of the Baxter tables winning 1st prize. Peter Glynn as usual was outstanding as quiz master and ably assisted on the night by Sinead Kelleher, John McHugh, John Kilcullen and Pat Gallagher. Tom Canavan was in charge of all the scores in excel. Each round in the quiz was sponsored by members or various businesses in the town and tables cost €50.
It was good to see some good friends and retired members at the evening. Dolores Moneley and Seamus Flynn spring to mind. My sources tell me that Seamus Flynn is a real quiz shark and has regularly attended quizzes over the years. A few of the quiz attendees went over for one to Johnny McHales after the quiz was over.
